WHAT BROUGHT YOU TO YOUR FIRST CLASS HERE AT STEAM HOUSE?

I have been practicing yoga for about 15 years and love how the postures and the pace of class compliment my busy, active lifestyle. I have a couple of close friends who started practicing hot yoga and suggested that I might enjoy it. I resisted for quite a while as I thought the idea of practicing the same sequence with the same script would be incredibly boring, and the heat might be too much. When Steam House opened in Epping I thought this would be the perfect time to give it a try. I promised myself I would keep an open mind. Well, I was hooked after the first class! The things that I resisted at first are the exact things I love about the 26/2 sequence. I learned that following the same sequence and same script allows for meditation in movement, a perfect compliment to my life. I felt amazing after the very first class. I was hooked!

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE POSTURE OR MOVEMENT TO DO IN CLASS?

My favorite posture shifts all the time, but I have been focusing on triangle recently. My ears are ready to hear the dialog that builds the strong foundation of this posture.

WHAT ARE SOME BENEFITS YOU’VE NOTICED SINCE YOU’VE BEEN TAKING CLASSES HERE REGULARLY?

There have been many benefits to practicing Hot Yoga. I enjoy many activities outside of the hot room. Activities such as hiking, skiing, biking, waterskiing, kayaking, snowshoeing…. I feel that the Hot Yoga keeps my muscles and joints healthy and strong so that I can continue to do all of the things I love to do. I love that I can still do all of these activities with my grandchildren. The mental benefits are one of the things that I bring out of the hot room, sense of peace, understanding, and appreciation for hard work.

WHAT WORDS OF ADVICE DO YOU HAVE FOR SOMEONE CONSIDERING COMING TO THE STUDIO FOR THE FIRST TIME?

My advice for a new student is; keep an open mind and give it a try. You will feel amazing. The community at Steam House Hot Yoga & Pilates is supportive and encouraging with a lot of great energy!
